Jerry Bergtholdt’s roots are firmly planted in Ste. Genevieve County, where he was raised. He attended Ste. Genevieve’s Valle Catholic School, and then continued his education at Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau. Eventually, he was fortunate enough to complete a 3-year banking program at the Graduate School of Banking in beautiful Boulder, Colorado.
Jerry is a highly self-motivated individual that has been blessed with a wonderful supporting family. He shares 3 wonderful children with his wife, Geri. All still live close to home and enjoy contributing to the local communities. He’s also the very proud grandfather of three: ages 7, 5, and 1. Outside of the bank, he enjoys being with his family, cycling, camping, and enjoying the outdoors.
Jerry has enjoyed a long and healthy banking career of 38 years, allowing him to grow and serve the community in which he lives in. He’s proud of all the community achievements and awards he has received over the years for providing service to others. He actively contributes to multiple Boards and Clubs including Rotary International, Chamber of Commerce, and the SGCMH Friend’s Foundation. When asked: What are you passionate about in your career? He replied, “That I can walk out the bank door every day to see the community that I helped build, in my small little way, over the years”. He is mindful of those that have helped him achieve his goals, whether for the bank, community, or clients.
Jerry manages with a ‘Team’ approach, putting faith in his managers and departments. He’s a believer in taking care of his employees/team and always provides them with the support and training they need to prosper and grow.
Jerry truly cares about the community as well as its people and believes in banking relationships. His focus for Bloomsdale Bank is to remain a community bank that is connected to its customers. He aims to nourish Bloomsdale Bank’s ongoing relationships and wishes to continue all the great things the Bank does for the surrounding communities. He will continue to share the importance and value of being a community bank with all new employees by his example and actions.
Jerry’s move to the Bloomsdale branch location won’t slow him down as he will continue to aide Ste. Genevieve’s branch as needed. However, the branch will be in the very capable hands of their very own, Vice President Brian Keim and the rest of his staff. Jerry intends to continue his hand-on involvement with all branches, spanning Jefferson County as well as Ste. Genevieve County.
